Responsive Reading:

Leader:   God, the Eternal Creator, weeps for the poor, displaced, mistreated, and diseased of the world because of their unnecessary suffering.

Congregation: Through you, God, we have such a hope. We are called to act with great boldness!

Leader:   Such conditions are not God’s will.

Congregation: Our veils must be set aside so that we can see with eyes focused by the heart of Christ.

Leader:   Open your ears to hear the pleading of mothers and fathers in all nations who desperately seek a future of hope for their children.

Congregation: The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Open our hearts to respond; to offer hope.

Leader:   Do not turn away.

Congregation: We turn toward you, Lord, so that we may hear your call and respond.

Leader:   For in their welfare resides your welfare.

All:   All of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.

Communion Message…………………………………………………………….. Priest Joyce Young

Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper

Preparation of the Emblems

Hymn of Preparation    “Coming Together for Wine and for Bread”       CCS 516

Invitation to the Table

In Community of Christ the Lord’s Supper is a sacrament in which we remember the life, death, and living presence of Jesus Christ. Through partaking of the emblems, we renew the covenant we made through baptism, reconcile and strengthen relationships, and commit ourselves to Christ’s mission in the world. We invite all who participate in the Lord’s Supper to do so as an expression of the love and peace of Jesus Christ, in whose name we worship.

Blessing and Serving of the Bread and Wine

*Hymn of Sending Forth “We Meet as Friends at Table”…………………………… CCS 532

*Benediction……………………………………………………………………….. Priest Verona Gazzier

Be sent forth back down the mountain and acknowledge the change,

Share with others the glory of God,

Continue to listen as Christ speaks,

and follow him into mission.

Go forth in peace sharing the message of the Light of the World.

*Response…………………………………………………………………………….. Elder Sheila Steiner

*Postlude ……………………………………………………………………………… Elder Sheila Steiner
